Story courtesy of HPUSports.com PLAINVIEW - The Howard Payne University football team overcame an early deficit and used a dominant second quarter to pull away for a 37-17 victory over Wayland Baptist on Saturday, September 19 at Greg Sherwood Memorial Stadium.

Wayland Baptist took an early 10-7 lead after a first-quarter field goal and touchdown run, but the Yellow Jackets responded with 13 unanswered points before halftime to seize control of the game.

Howard Payne grabbed the lead for good when quarterback Bryce Still capped a 92-yard drive with a touchdown run early in the second quarter.
