DENISON, Texas (KXII) - Fifth and sixth graders in Denison ISD walked into the new B. McDaniel Intermediate School for the first time Thursday, marking the opening of an $82 million facility that came out of the district's 2023 bond.

New campus featuresThe campus includes a double gymnasium, a courtyard, and an amphitheater.

Superintendent David Kirkbride said the building was designed with student learning in mind."There's windows everywhere. We have lots of natural light coming in. There's tons of collaborative space. And so this building by design was created so our kids could breathe and thrive in a great learning environment," Kirkbride said.
