DENISON, Texas (KXII) - A dog left on the side of the road in very bad shape is now recovering, thanks to the help of the Denison Animal Welfare Group (DAWG.)Maggie is on the long road to recovery after her life was nearly cut short.

Saturday evening, good samaritans spotted her caged and abandoned on the side of the side of a road in Denison."She had multiple puncture wounds all around her head and neck area," stated DAWG President Stephanie Phillips.

"It's possible she was attacked by coyotes or another dog. It's even possible she may have been used as a bait dog."The rescuers rushed her to an emergency clinic, who called in DAWG.
