The Comal Independent School District board of trustees has approved a 10 cent increase to the paid eligibility breakfast and lunch prices for the 2026-2027 school year.

The trustees approved this increase during a regular board meeting on May 28.

The paid breakfast price will now be $2. 15, while elementary lunch will cost $3. 40 and secondary lunch will cost $3. 60. "The increase is prompted by the annual [consumer price index] meal rate increase adjustment for inflation that is used by companies and our food service company included," Chief Financial Officer Larry Guerra said.
