Last Wednesday evening, the Sophienburg Museum and Archives launched a new lecture series titled History on Tap.

With local beer and sausage in hand, patrons explored the history of Prohibition, beer, and brewing in New Braunfels and the surrounding area through a lecture by local author Travis Poling.

To celebrate the inaugural event, a new exhibit titled A Funeral for Lady Liberty formally opened detailing a funerary protest on the plaza caused by the passage of the first blue law in 1907, which closed bars on Sundays.
