Boerne Champion is coming off its bye week and will host Seguin on Friday at BISD Stadium.

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. The Chargers and Matadors have met the last four years in district action and have split their four games after Champion won in 2025 and in 2023, while the Matadors claimed victories in 2024 and 2022. One of the games, a 73-66 victory by Seguin set a Boerne ISD Stadium record for most combined points scored in a game with 139. While it remains to be seen if this year's contest will be a shootout, the Chargers have shown that they can score points quickly in 2026. Champion comes in averaging 58 points a game and is 6-0, while Seguin is struggling this year.

The Matadors graduated 6-foot-7 quarterback Corey Dailey, who is now playing at the University of Pittsburgh, and the Matadors are off to a 1-5 start this year (1-3 in district).
