(KGNS) - Six candidates are running in the District 8 special election after a filing deadline solidified the candidate field.

The city secretary said the next step is to draw the order of the candidates on the special election ballot.

The ballot drawing will be held Wednesday, Oct. 14, at City Hall chambers at 1 p.m. District 8 voters can look forward to early voting, although some days will be unavailable due to the Thanksgiving holiday."Early voting for the special election will be November 23rd through December 1st. There will be no early voting on November 26th and 27th. And then we have election day December 5th," said Mario Maldonado, secretary, City of Laredo.
