NACOGDOCHES, Texas (KTRE) - Stephen F. Austin State University plans to begin offering child care subsidies to eligible parenting students this spring through a new initiative funded by a nearly $2 million federal grant.

The Jacks Care initiative - short for Jacks Childcare, Academic Support, Retention and Economic Impact - will use the four-year grant to help eligible students pay for child care.

The program will also connect students with mentors and other resources.
