Kathryn Dover, a member of the Riverside Nature Center board of directors, calls herself a "very nature-heavy" person.

"I spend a lot of time outdoors," she said.

"We love traveling to a lot of Texas parks, and hiking along their trails. One of my friends said I was a 'natural' for the Riverside Nature Center's board and recommended me. I became a member in January 2024, and little did I know I would be bringing RNC through both our recent floods. I'm glad I could help, though." She said the purpose of the board of directors is to further the mission of the RNC, "Advancing the stewardship of our environment," by deciding on appropriate initiatives for the 501(c)3 organization, coming up with fundraising ideas to support programs, then making the plans to implement those decisions.
