College students majoring in agricultural education and preparing to student teach off campus in the spring semester can apply for scholarships from Texas Farm Bureau.

The Mia Balko Student Teaching Award Scholarship is valued at $6,000 and awarded to four senior agricultural education students during the spring semester of off-campus student teaching.

"Student teaching is an invaluable experience. During that semester, those pre-service teachers are able to be in the classroom full time and can learn from experienced agricultural science teachers," Booker Young, Bandera County Farm Bureau president, said.
