Gillespie County residents Bruce Neitzke and Esther Schneider filed a petition in the 216th District Court on Oct. 14 seeking the removal of Gillespie County Judge Daniel Jones from office.

The petition alleges that Jones failed to comply with Texas Local Government Code requirements for Commissioners Court to compare and examine the treasurer's reports, approve the reports and enter required orders in the court minutes.

It also claims there is no evidence that required affidavits from the commissioners were filed with the county clerk, entered in the minutes or published as required.
