Nashville police are searching for a hit-and-run driver accused of striking a 59-year-old woman in a crosswalk, helping move her to a sidewalk and then leaving her there for hours.

Big picture view: According to the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, the crash happened around 5:50 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Dr. DB Todd Jr. Boulevard and Buchanan Street.

Officers were flagged down around 10:40 p.m. after the woman was found unconscious on a sidewalk near the intersection.
