LUFKIN, Texas (KTRE) - The Texas Department of Transportation Lufkin District is seeking public input on its first bicycle infrastructure plan to improve cycling routes and pedestrian safety across Deep East Texas.
Transportation officials hosted an open house meeting Friday morning at Kurth Memorial Library in Lufkin, allowing community members to review proposals, speak directly with planners, and mark areas where they want cycling improvements focused.
The regional plan covers communities throughout Deep East Texas, including Lufkin's Crown Colony area, Diboll, and sections along the new relief route.
