JASPER, Texas (KTRE) - The Jasper County Sheriff's Office is investigating the theft of fire safety training equipment stored at the City of Jasper Animal Shelter on Old Highway 8 in Jasper.
Firefighters discovered the break-in Tuesday while prepping for fire prevention programs scheduled to begin next month, according to the Jasper Volunteer Fire Department.
The stolen gear includes a red and black 5,500-watt Honda generator with a 120/240-volt breaker switch, a marine/RV deep-cycle battery, two propane tanks and a 30-foot, 30-amp RV power cord, according to the department.
