A local taco spot on Emancipation Avenue is among the businesses and residents set to benefit from a major infrastructure upgrade coming to East Downtown Houston.

Brothers Taco House on Emancipation Avenue will see improved water service once the Emancipation Avenue Rehabilitation Project is completed.

The $2 million project runs from St. Joseph Parkway north to Texas Avenue and is expected to wrap up by December 2026 - just in time for the holidays, when crowds head downtown for festivities.
