AUSTIN Texas - A person has died after being hit by a vehicle while they were crossing the highway in North Austin.

The backstory: The crash happened around 9 p.m. on August 20 on the 71 exit ramp northbound to Highway 183.

The Austin Police Department says the incident involved only one vehicle.
