The Fredericksburg/Gillespie County Emergency Operations Center has returned to normal operations after 17 days of activation in response to the July flooding, according to Fredericksburg/Gillespie County Emergency Management.
Emergency officials announced the closure July 31, saying the EOC coordinated weather monitoring, emergency response partners, rescue efforts, emergency alerts and evacuations before transitioning to disaster recovery operations.
Although the emergency operations center has closed, Emergency Management said it will continue supporting Gillespie County's recovery efforts through resident assistance, public information updates, documentation tracking, support for county road crews and ongoing situational awareness.
