HAMILTON COUNTY, Texas (KWTX) - The Rio Escondido fire has burned 2,713 acres over the past several days, damaging multiple properties in Hamilton County, according to fire officials.

Melissa Hussel, a 911 dispatcher for Hamilton County, lives directly across from the Rio Escondido neighborhood.

She was working when a call came in about a fire near her home."One of our other dispatchers called and asked if we knew there was a fire out in this general vicinity," Hussel said.
