WACO, Texas (KWTX) - Students at Axtell High School are stepping behind the lens to tell their school's story with the launch of their first campus-based television show and digital media brand, Longhorn Creative Studios.
Led by digital media teacher Coy Siders, the program gives high schoolers hands-on broadcast, video production and photography experience while serving both the campus and the surrounding community."Longhorn Creative Studios was built to create a recognizable brand, not just another school program," Siders said.
"Our mission is to serve our school and community, capture lasting memories, and give students authentic, real-world experience. Through hands-on industry partnerships, our students produce football game coverage for two local news stations, manage social media content for local businesses, and bring community stories to life."Equipped with digital cameras and professional editing software, student creators fan out across campus daily to cover everything from athletics and FFA to band, cheer, academics and everyday student life.
