In what is being billed as a first-ever occurrence, Guadalupe County will hold a special public hearing regarding a trio of elected officials' salary grievances Monday morning at the courthouse.

"Three elected officials have requested a special public hearing to present a salary grievance and request an increase in compensation. The hearing will provide an opportunity for the officials who filed for a grievance hearing to present their request to a (formal) Salary Grievance Committee of Guadalupe County," county Public Information Officer Carmen Davila said.

"The nine-member salary grievance committee is formed from names drawn from individuals who served on a grand jury in the previous year. This is the first salary grievance hearing of its kind for Guadalupe County." Dalondo Moultrie is the managing editor of the Seguin Gazette.
