Unlike many kids in Texas, Harper High School senior Caelan Bernhard decided during his freshman year that football wasn't for him.

Before his first year of high school, Caelan spent the summer working out and preparing for football.

But on the day players were supposed to receive their pads, he went to his dad, Sterling Bernhard, and told him he didn't want to play.
