The Kilauea volcano in Hawaii on the state's big island provided a spectacular display over the weekend.

On Saturday, the volcano erupted, shooting a lava fountain an estimated 700 feet in the air.

The US Geological Survey (USGS) said the fountain on the north vent sent a plume cloud rising to 25,000 feet.
