TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - Smith County officials are using wireless emergency alerts and limit-line signage for the first time to enforce an extended burn ban that has already sparked 58 outdoor burning calls and six citations or warnings.
According to Fire Marshal Chad Hogue, grass and vegetation remain "dry and crunchy" despite recent rainfall.
