A hot program at Guadalupe County's Juvenile Services is helping young people change their lives in more ways than one.

For the past couple of years, the county department has offered youth as young as 7 and as old as 17 a program aimed at instilling a lifetime of confidence and steering them to life on the straight and narrow, Chief Juvenile Probation Officer Nick Reininger said.

To accomplish certain goals, the department hosts probation and prevention cooking classes several times a year, he said.
