YES Prep Public Schools is stepping up for its neighbors in Houston's Fifth Ward today, organizing a community supply distribution for residents impacted by a dayslong power outage at Rose Plaza Apartments.

Through its YES Prep Cares initiative, YES Prep team members are distributing bottled water, hygiene products and essential household items at Brewster Park, located at 1800 Des Chaumes St. "YES Prep Cares reflects our commitment to showing up for our neighbors when they need us most," said Isy Castillo, Chief External Officer at YES Prep Public Schools.

"Fifth Ward is a community we are proud to be part of, and when families are facing difficult circumstances, we want them to know that YES Prep is here to help connect them with the resources they need." YES Prep has been rooted in the Fifth Ward community since 2011, operating a secondary school in the neighborhood.
