The New Braunfels City Council voted unanimously to enlist the legal services of Ryan Henry to conduct an independent investigation into the issues surrounding the police department headquarters after a brief executive session during a special meeting on Aug. 3.
The meeting and investigation were called for by Councilmember Toni Carter, who has been outspoken in her desire for a separate investigation initiated by city council.
Since opening its doors four years ago, the headquarters building has experienced parking lot pooling, broken pipes under locker rooms, drywall cracks, outer pavement shifting that has led to exterior doors being blocked and more, The Herald-Zeitung previously reported.
