MIDLAND COUNTY, Texas (KOSA) - Midland County has approved a new recruitment policy offering eligible new detention officers up to $3,000 in more compensation for remaining with the county through their first two years of employment.

Under the policy, officers receive $1,000 after completing their first year and an additional $2,000 after completing their second year.

Commissioners Court approved the policy Aug. 4, when it took effect.
