HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- An investigation is underway Thursday morning after a pedestrian was found dead along the service road of Katy Freeway at Wirt Road, according to officials.

The Houston Police Department said officers were called out to the scene at about 5:45 a.m. for a person lying in the road.

The scene appears to be blocking only the inbound lanes of the service road, but did not seem to affect the main lanes on the highway.
