HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- An investigation is underway after a man was found dead near Crosby Freeway in northeast Harris County on Wednesday afternoon, authorities said.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office said deputies were dispatched at about 1 p.m. to the 13000 block of Crosby Freeway in reference to a man lying in the grassy area near the roadway.

Officials said South Lake EMS responded to the scene and determined that the man was dead.
