TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - Residents and advocates are speaking out against a proposal to run extra-high-voltage transmission lines across East Texas, raising concerns about private property rights, agricultural land use, and the cost of the project.

The proposal is part of Texas' 765-kilovolt Strategic Transmission Expansion Plan.

The plan carries an estimated $33 billion in capital costs and nearly $100 billion in lifetime costs for electric customers.
