Drivers traveling through downtown Houston have an extra day before several long-term road closures take effect.

The closures, originally scheduled to begin Monday, Oct. 26, have been delayed until Tuesday, Oct. 27.

The closures are part of an ongoing drainage improvement project and will impact several streets near Interstate 69 through March 2027. I-69 southbound entrance ramp closure The I-69 southbound entrance ramp from Webster Street is scheduled to close Tuesday, Oct. 27. The closure is expected to last through March 26, 2027. Drivers heading to I-69 southbound can follow this detour: Hamilton and Gray Street closures Two additional downtown streets are scheduled to close Tuesday, October 27, through March 26, 2027. Hamilton Street: Closed between Pierce Street and Hadley Street.
