(InvestigateTV) - Borrowers who have been in the SAVE forbearance plan for the past several years are now receiving notices requiring them to leave the plan and choose a new repayment option.

The personalized 90-day notices come from loan servicers and began going out in July, with new notices rolling out roughly every two weeks through the end of the year.

Robert Farrington, with The College Investor, said once a borrower receives the notice, a 90-day clock begins."When you get your notice, you have to take action and choose a new repayment plan," Farrington said.
