Voters across the Houston area delivered a sweeping rejection of school funding proposals Tuesday, defeating every school district bond and property tax increase measure on the Nov. 3 ballot.

All six districts that sought voter approval for additional funding - Cypress-Fairbanks, Channelview, Crosby, Huffman, La Porte and Spring ISDs - saw their proposals fail, according to unofficial election results.

The defeats leave districts without hundreds of millions of dollars in proposed operating revenue and more than $2 billion in potential bond funding for school construction, repairs, technology and other improvements.
