The announcementOn July 7, SFA Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Jordan Barkley announced the Early Childhood Laboratory will be gradually shut down, citing rising operating costs and long-term financial concerns.
In his letter, Barkley said the decision is not a reflection of the quality of the lab or its staff, but rather the university's responsibility to balance rising costs with its broader academic mission.
