Mississippi's attorney general says a police officer's use of force was justified in the fatal shooting of a Senatobia 1-year-old baby boy.

What we know: The Senatobia Police Department released a statement from interim Police Chief Angelica Maze acknowledging the Mississippi attorney general's decision to close the case, saying, "We recognize the seriousness of this incident and its impact on everyone involved, their families, our officers, and the community," Maze said.

"We appreciate the community's patience throughout the review process." The backstory: Kohen Wiley was killed, and another person was wounded when a police officer fired into a moving vehicle during a shoplifting call outside a Walmart in Senatobia in June, authorities said.
