HUMBLE, Texas (KTRK) -- A man accused of theft is dead after being shot by officers in the parking lot of an Academy store in Humble, according to police.

The Humble Police Department said the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office notified it that a theft suspect was entering the city limits on Wednesday afternoon.

Two Humble PD officers found a vehicle matching the suspect's vehicle description and "made contact with the suspect," Humble Chief of Police Kris Battenfield said.
