NACOGDOCHES, Texas (KLTV) - The Nacogdoches County Commissioners Court approved a proposed tax rate increase during its monthly meeting Tuesday.

Commissioners approved a higher proposed rate than last year's adopted tax rate due to a new jail bond that voters approved last year, County Judge Chris Bentley said after the meeting.

The proposed rate is $0. 5210 per $100 of taxable value, amounting to $521 annually for a home valued at $100,000, with the bond adding nine cents to the rate.
