GAINESVILLE, Texas (KXII) - A Pilot Point man is headed to prison for his role in a fatal drunk driving crash in 2025 after he pleaded guilty to manslaughter last week.

Gainesville Police said Michael Ferguson, 47, first hit an SUV on Highway 82 in March of that year before he took off and crashed into a pickup truck.

The truck's driver, Richard Shields, 60, was killed in the crash, and Ferguson was arrested a month later.
