On Monday, Nov. 16, the Gillespie County AgriLife Extension Office will celebrate the 2026 pecan crop with a Pecan Bake-Off and county Pecan Show.

To enter the Pecan Show, bring a brown paper bag of 40-42 pecans of the same variety that were grown by you in Gillespie County by 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 16. Seedlings, known hybrids and native pecans can also be entered, but will have their own categories.

Smallest pecan entries need to have at least a pound of nuts present.
