Becker Vineyards officially began its 2026 grape harvest July 22 with the picking of semillon, a white Bordeaux varietal harvested from the winery's estate vineyard east of Fredericksburg.

"The harvest is looking very light due to multiple freezes earlier in the year in both the Texas Hill Country and High Plains," said Remi Immler Gregory, Becker Vineyards' new winemaker.

"With yields being low, I'm very excited about incorporating different techniques and trials into our winemaking and being able to track experiments to use for future vintages. I'm also excited to work alongside our amazing cellar team and produce incredible award-winning wines together." Gregory said chardonnay from the Tallent Vineyard near Mason will be the next variety harvested, followed by estate-grown sauvignon blanc.
