HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- The 14-year-old suspect arrested in connection with the deadly shooting of a Westfield High School student has been charged with murder, a day after his arrest, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office.

The sheriff's office said the fatal shooting happened just before 3 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon in the sidewalk area adjacent to Westfield High School and a Spring ISD building.
