ALPINE, Texas (KOSA) - The City of Alpine has declared Stage 4 - Critical Water Shortage Conditions after a critical failure in the municipal well system disrupted the city's water supply and distribution capabilities.

City officials said crews are working with utility personnel, technical experts, emergency management officials and regional partners to stabilize the system and restore normal service as quickly as possible.

Effective immediately, residents and businesses must follow mandatory water restrictions, including:No outdoor irrigation or landscape watering.
