An area nonprofit organization aimed at helping students is asking members of the community to ride with it this weekend collecting school supplies for children.

Communities in School of South Central Texas hosts its in-person Pack the Bus event Saturday at H-E-B stores in the area.

Participation in the annual event is vital for the nonprofit schools supporter to keep pace with the need exhibited in this growing community, said Susan Wetz, Communities in Schools of South Central Texas CEO.
