New Braunfels Utilities' conservation legacy project, the Headwaters at the Comal, will be opening three new outdoor archaeology exhibits on Sept. 30.

The ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at the Headwaters at the Comal, located at 333 E. Klingemann St., at 9 a.m. The new exhibits will give visitors the opportunity to explore more than 8,000 years of human history at the site through examining replica stone tools uncovered at the site, discovering how early inhabitants used earthen ovens to prepare food and following a timeline that traces the generations of people who have gathered around the springs for thousands of years, a press release stated.

The exhibits expand educational opportunities focused on conservation, cultural history and stewardship, as well as build on the Headwaters' mission to preserve and restore an important natural and cultural resource.
