Pleasanton police arrested a 33-year-old man Aug. 12 after responding to a report of a possible theft in progress.

At approximately 4:25 p.m., telecommunicators received a call reporting that a man was carrying items out of a backyard in the 1100 block of Cardinal.

According to police, the suspect dropped the items and fled into the neighborhood after seeing the caller contact law enforcement.
