A physical confrontation turned deadly Sunday after a fight downtown, the San Antonio Police Department said.

Officers responded on a shooting call just before 5 a.m. in the 600 block of Hemisfair Plaza Way, which is located near South Alamo Street.

When officers arrived, they located a 35-year-old man, later identified as Jonathan Alderete, with at least one gunshot wound.
