MIDLAND, Texas (KOSA) - Sam Houston Collegiate Preparatory Elementary and South Elementary will open for classes Tuesday, Aug. 4.

According to a social media update from Midland ISD District 4 Trustee Dr. Matt Friez, the Midland ISD Board of Trustees had been informed that both campuses will be ready to welcome students after work by district administrators, contractors and subcontractors.

He thanked those involved for their efforts, saying crews worked with urgency in temperatures exceeding 100 degrees and continued their work into the evenings to prepare the schools for reopening.
