Over the past several days, local voter registrars in counties across Texas have received an onslaught of new voter registrations and updates to voter registration records submitted through the Texas Department of Public Safety, according to Lisa Walther, Kerr County public information officer.
Some of those submissions date as far back as October 2025, but an error kept them from reaching local voter registrars until this past week.
"In Kerr County, we received approximately 1,000 records to process as a result of a technological error at the state level that caused a major backlog," Kerr County Voter Registrar Bob Reeves said.
