This Thursday, Oct. 22, two Red Oak trees in the area of Main Plaza will be removed due to fungal infections that pose risks to infrastructure, vehicles and public safety, according to a press release from the city of New Braunfels.

The city's urban forester and arborist conducted risk assessments which determined that both trees are "highhazard and must be removed to prevent potential failure," the release stated.

Tree No. 1 is located on the outer portion of the traffic circle, near South Seguin Avenue.
