The Pleasanton ISD School Board is slated to consider possible action on a proposed School Marshal Program next month, a security initiative aimed at placing trained, confidential, armed district staff on campuses ahead of the spring semester.

While the official agenda will not be finalized and released until closer to the meeting date, the program is scheduled to be brought forward during the next board meeting on Monday, Aug. 10, at 7 p.m. in the PISD administration boardroom.

Introduced by Superintendent Dr. John Perez following interest from community residents, the initiative is designed to comply with Texas House Bill 3 guidelines, which require armed security personnel at every school campus.
